Chiropractic care is a “hands on” treatment option for a range of conditions related to the spine, joints and muscles. Chiropractors are 5 year university trained allied health practitioners and are educated to use numerous care options to assist people with their various goals.

Gentle (low force) options can be used in different circumstances, including patient preference, health contraindications or during pregnancy.

Our Gentle treatment options

Here are our commonly used “gentle” methods of chiropractic care:

  • Pelvic Blocks: Wedge shaped cushions that stretch out your lower back joints and muscles.
  • Neck Traction: A gently pulling motion to slowly stretch out the muscles and joints of your neck.
  • Muscle Release: Involves using pressure over soft tissues while sometimes adding movement.
  • Activator: A small, hand-held device that delivers a low-force movement (impulse) to a specific area.
  • Mobilisations: Small back & forth movements at the joints to release pressure on the structures around the painful area.
  • Drop Piece Table: Relieves stiff and tense joints, usually around the lower back.
  • Dry Needling: Fine acupuncture needles to relieve muscle knots and improve range of motion.

Gentle Chiropractic Care

pregnancy & Chiropractic

We offer a safe and gentle approach for the relief of discomfort that can often occur during pregnancy. As your body is changing, we try our best to accommodate you by using low force or gentle options.

Our Chiropractors take a methodical approach in our consultation.

We start with:

  • Health History & Assessment
  • Examination including range of movement of the joints and locating any tender areas

If the examination indicates the source of the pain is musculoskeletal (muscles, joints & nerves), we will proceed with treatment. If any further investigation needs to be performed, you will be referred for imaging or to your GP.
