when should I see a chiropractor?

There are two categories of people that generally attend for Chiropractic care.

Firstly, for pain – whether that has occurred recently (Acute) or ongoing pain (Chronic).

Generally with acute pain it can be from a recent injury, change of activity (work or job) or excessive activity or excessive rest.

In most cases, acute pain is slightly higher in intensity but can be reduced a lot easier than chronic pain.

Chronic pain is classified as occurring longer than 3 months. It can be more from a combination of factors, like past injuries, stressors, posture, activity levels & more.

This pain tends to be lower in intensity but requires a multi-modal approach to recovery (a combination of treatments and techniques, and sometimes adjunct  practitioners).

Secondly, patients attend the clinic for health & wellbeing reasons. This may be to increase their joint mobility, improve their posture or reduce general stiffness. We usually do this with a combination of treatment with exercises.

We give Chiropractic care to both Acute and Chronic pain patients, as well as those wanting to improve their general health & wellbeing.

the chiropractic education process

All Chiropractors undergo 5 years of University study to receive their Chiropractic qualification. In Perth, this is performed at Murdoch University.

As a result, they have extensive knowledge in basic as well as advanced Science principals. These range from Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Neurology & Spinal Biomechanics.

Chiropractors are also regulated by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

As an extra addition, Our Chiropractors are also members of the Australian Chiropractors Association (ACA).

Every year, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours are also a requirement for Chiropractors.

CPD ensures a foundation to lifelong learning, enabling effective clinical care to patients – giving them the most updated & best possible care.
